What is SWP (Systematic Withdrawal Plan)?

A Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) allows investors to withdraw a fixed amount of money from their mutual fund investments at regular intervals. Our SWP Calculator helps you estimate your monthly withdrawals, the total amount withdrawn, and the remaining balance after a chosen time period. You can also adjust for inflation to see the real value of your withdrawals.

How to Use the SWP Calculator

  • Enter your initial investment amount
  • Set the monthly withdrawal (SWP) amount
  • Choose the expected annual return rate (%)
  • Select the investment duration in years
  • Optionally, add expected inflation rate
  • See real-time results of your withdrawals and remaining balance

SWP Calculation Formula

SWP calculation is based on the concept of compounding and regular withdrawals. The remaining value is calculated after adjusting the monthly growth and deducting withdrawals:

Remaining Balance = Initial Investment × (1 + r)^n – SWP × [( (1 + r)^n – 1 ) / r ]
Where:
r = Monthly return rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100)
n = Total number of months
